Sisustustaulu helposti - DIY wall art

(Instructions/how-to in english at the end)

Paina sitten tapetti kanvastauluusi/paperiisi......

Valmista on!

This is great way to use old wallpapers and turn them to an artwork.

You need:

-       old wallpapers ( more rough the better )
-       acrylic colors
-       brushes
-       water container
-       Paper ( where to press the patterns )
-       Black marker

What to do:

Tear peaces from wallpaper, different sizes and if you have, tear multiple different wallpapers. You never know which one of them looks best after pressed to a paper.

Choose your colors and paint the piece of wallpaper with your brush and acrylic. Press it to your paper right away ( acrylic colors will dry so fast that you may have to be quick ). If you like the shape and color, make more trials with different colors with the same piece. That way you will find the right colors to your artwork.

When you find the best pattern, press it multiple times to paper. Use different colors and note: add just a littlebit color every other time. That way you will have more depth to your final work. Also, use black color here and there. It really does make a difference to your final work. Make as many trials as you can. These patterned papers are great gifts for friends or use them as a greeting cards, scrapbooking, mixed media projects etc.

When you are happy for your results, add some freehand writing to you piece. Write multiple layers and let the lines cross each other. It is not ment to be read. More important is the feeling of writing. In my opinion, ofcourse.

Remember to put your brushes to a water container all the time because if you don´t they will dry and are useless. When ever you have a break or you are just thinking what to do next, put your brush to water. I´m speaking out of experience here – lot´s of ruined brushes...

Take your kids with you to make these patterns. Kids just love to play and have fun with colors.
